Our fall 202 calves are being weaned. Not a time I enjoy because of the crying from both sides. We fence wean so everyone can see each other. Our fall 2020 calves were all bull calves except Sweet Eliza. Some of the boys were getting big enough to breed so separation was a must! Rex our companion steer was put in with the calves so they had a big cow with them. Starting next week calves start leaving to go to their new homes. Excited for our bull calves to become herd bulls on other farms. Our only heifer Sweet Eliza is going for a 4H project in a neighboring state. We hope she brings attention to a new audience on the versality and intelligence of this breed.
- A “Major” accomplishment
- Where does the time go???
- A sad goodbye
- Spring calving and the cows did not disappoint! Grand boys were here for spring break, and they got to witness new life coming into the world. I think the look on their faces says it all. PRICELESS!!!
- Why we choose to raise grass fed, grass finished beef.
